BATAAN DEATH MARCH 2005

At a water stop just after a 1300 ft ascent over 5 miles.	We passed Mineral Hill - site of several old silver and precious stone mines	This is known as the "Sand Pit" a 3 mile long stretch of the race from mile 21 ... you think you are done with the pain, then deep sand greets you... QUEBEC ICE HOTEL

One of our most amazing experiences was staying overnight in the Ice Hotel, Quebec for Valentines Day 2002.  It is rebuilt and re-carved every year, and is truly an outstanding experience.  You can see some of the photos below, and can see the rest of the shots here.

SCOTLAND 2004

COLORADO ADVENTURE RACE, AUSTIN 2004

I raced in this Adventure Race in Summer 2004 with my regular race partners Mike Elliot and Christian Johnson.  It was a fun course, including a run up a very muddy stream bed!  We ended up winning the thing - yee haw.  You can see some of the photos below - the headbands we are wearing divert the sweat from the eyes - invented, designed and sold by a friend of ours Erick Flatt.

THE KALALAU TRAIL, KAUAI, HAWAII

Mike Elliot and I took an extended weekend and did this challenging coastal hike on the island of Kauai with a friend/customer of ours, Steve Hurlbut. This must be one of the most awesome hikes I have ever done - right up there with the Inaccessible Pinnacle on the Cuillin Hills, and the Aonach Eagach Ridge in Glencoe.
